Peter's Peregrinations

“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.”
— Marc Riboud

As I said, it is a staple of my present life to take pictures and write poems. Thus, when the world is simply stunning or when I just feel like it, I take pictures to have a tangible memory of my past. I took some of these pictures with intent, some randomly, and some just due to sheer amazement and awe.

Galleries of pictures differentiate the different facets of my life and distinguish one era from another. By taking pictures, I form an album—a history book, even—of my past peregrinations and experiences. Some can be stories to be share and passed on, and some—only you and I know.

Below, I share six galleries portraying the different journeys I've been on in the past two years.

2019 - 2022: Gallery of Skies

I am an aspiring meteorologist, which is precisely why I chose STEM as my academic track. Every now and then, I read books and articles about the weather. I also track tropical storms (seen in the image above) when there are in the Philippines. Above all, I love cirrus clouds, a species of high clouds that we usually see during the dry cool season in the country. Check out these cloud photos from the Gallery of Skies.

2022: That Time in Zambales

The first time that I took a vacation since my Baguio journey in 2019. We explored areas around Zambales and Pangasinan within a three-day trip, spending time on the beach, walking around, and roasting marshmallows at nighttime. I even ate papakol, a tropical fish that tasted a bit like lechon—pity that I had not taken a picture of that! Check out these photos from That Time in Zambales.

2022: That Time in Manila

The first trip I ever had with my STEM203 classmates. We embarked on a museum tour, going around the National Museums in Manila and staying near sunset in Rizal Park. Though I had never had any experience going with them before, I'd say that it was a marvelous time. Check out these pictures from That Time in Manila.

2021: My Love for the Peculiar Series

The first novel series I have ever read. Written by Ransom Riggs, the Peculiar Series taught me a lot of lessons and has become indirect inspirations to how I view and make literature. This book also taught me the word peregrination, meaning journey, mostly by land. I used the money I got from working part-time to buy these books. For the final book, The Desolations of the Devil's Acre, I bought a hardcover copy signed by the author himself, and it was worth it! I have to admit that I cried when I finished the sixth and the final book. Check out these photos of a diehard Peculiar fan.

2020: Pictures During the Pandemic

The pandemic saw me heal. By the end of 10th grade, I had burnt out to the point of anxiety and extreme stress. I was also just reeling from a heartbreak. However, the pandemic offered a moment for introspection and self-improvement, something which I took advantage of. During the pandemic, I even found a passion and a knack for meteorology, something which still burns inside my heart up to this day. I must say, I've come a long way from my 10th grade self. Check out these photos from the pandemic.

2020-2022: Random Array of Peter's Photos

While not every day in my life is a momentous one, I still believe that everyday is a short leg of a peregrination, or put simply, everyday is a journey. Thus, I take pictures even on ordinary days. Check out these random photos of me and my everyday life from the last two years, without any description.
